FASHIONABLE provides women in Ethiopia recovering from the sex trade industry with valuable trade skills making scarves, leather bags, home goods and more. Through FASHIONABLE, women are ABLE to have a new choice, as they are taught these trades and given sustainable employment. Profits from the merchandise go back into the organization to rehabilitate more women and pull them off the streets. They believe that social businesses whose aim is to alleviate poverty should use their business skills to create job opportunities for the poor, not give them more charity.
In the Fall of 2015, FASHIONABLE added the local component to their mission, allowing them to create opportunity for women in Nashville who have overcome challenges ranging from lack of opportunity to addiction.
